Deleting Paint Effects

This tutorial covers how to permanently delete paint effects from your Maya scene.

Step one - Select all your paint effects in the view port and hit delete.

Step two - Go to window>outliner. Select the paint effects curve and hit delete. The paint effects curve will be named curve_name of your paint effects_. The text will most likely be in blue, signifying the object is hidden.

Step three - Still in the outliner, go to display and uncheck DAG objects only.

Select the brush (its name should be the name of the paint effects) and delete it.

Now you've removed all of the history of the paint effects in your Maya scene.
