Creating An Embossing Effect

This tutorial will teach you how to create an embossing effect using Adobe Photoshop's layer styles.

Set-up

Download the setup.psd.

Step one - Select the text layer.

Step two - Go to layer>layer styles>blending and emboss.

Step three - Set the style to pillow emboss. Set the depth to 21%, size to 8, and softness to 0.

Step four - You won't see any difference yet. Close the layer style window by pressing OK.

Step five - Set the fill to 0%, and this wil hide the original layer's color and only display the emboss.

Done.
