Creating A Sketched Effect

This tutorial will teach you how to create a sketched effect in Adobe Photoshop.

Set-up

You can use your own image, or use this sample.

Step one - Select the background layer and go to image>adjustments>desaturate.

Step two - Duplicate the background layer. Go to layer>duplicate layer... When the window comes up, press OK.

Step three - Select the newly duplicated layer and go to image>adjustments>invert.

Step four - Set the layer blending mode to color dodge.

Step five - Still with the layer selected, go to filter>blur>gaussian blur... Play with the radius attribute to get it right. For this I used 2.2.

Now you're done.
